Why I Bought an AMADA Combination Laser Punch Instead of Used AMADA Machinery
I'm not a process engineer. I'm the office administrator for a 50-person metal fabrication shop, which means I buy the shop supplies, the tooling, and, unfortunately, some of the machines. Yes, in the right situation. If your shop runs the same few part numbers day after day, with no design changes, a used AMADA punch can be a great asset. AMADA machines are built to last. But for us, 70% of our orders are under 100 pieces. The battle is not machine speed; it's changeover time and workflow.
I also know people will say a used machine has no depreciation and lower payments. That's fine until the machine sits down.
